The difference in short
A ready-made game server is a server for one game, installed and configured by the hosting company. You pay, pick the game, and within minutes the server is running. You control it from a web panel with console, files, backups and restarts.
A VPS is a virtual server with an operating system and root access. You install whatever you want yourself: one or more game servers, a website, a Discord bot, a database. Total freedom, but also all the work.
When to choose a ready-made game server
- You want to play, not administer. You do not need to know Linux. Everything happens in the panel.
- You have a single game server. A ready-made plan fits exactly that.
- You want to start today. The server is ready minutes after payment, with the game already installed.
- You want help when something breaks. Support knows the panel and the games and can help directly.
When to choose a VPS
- You want several servers on the same machine. For example a CS 1.6 server, a Minecraft server and a Discord bot, all on one VPS.
- Your game is not in the ready-made list. On a VPS you can run almost any dedicated server.
- You need extra software: a community website, a database, a stats panel.
- You are comfortable with Linux or want to learn.

Which is cheaper?
For a single game server, the ready-made option is usually cheaper and certainly less tiring. You pay for exactly the resources the game needs, and setup, updates and the panel are included.
